The Directorate of Enforcement, with its Headquarters at New Delhi is headed the Director of Enforcement. There are two Special Directors, one Additional Director and two Deputy Directors at Head Office. There is a Legal Wing at Headquarters Office headed by the Additional Director (Prosecution).
For enforcing the provisions of various sections of FEMA, 1999 and PMLA 2002 the officers of Directorate of the level of Assistant Director and above will have to undertake functions.

Directorate of Enforcement falls under the section 24 read with Second schedule of the RTI Act, which exempts it from the general operation of RTI Act, except as mentioned in the Act.
